A famous UCLA study showed that a very high percentage of communication is nonverbal. Effectively, this means that it’s not only what is said that’s important, but how it’s said. The tone of someone’s voice, body language, and a bead of sweat forming from an uncomfortable line of questioning are all nonverbal indicators that can subconsciously show your jury the whole truth, and not that which is reduced to text.
